FAQs
Opening hours and visiting us
Our clinics are open Monday to Friday, 8am–8pm, and Saturday, 9am–5pm.
Our St. James’s gym has longer opening hours. If you need help from the team rather than just access to the gym, please contact us during staffed hours.
Booking and changing appointments
You can book online through our website, call the clinic or speak to us in person. We accept card payments only and do not accept cash.
Nordic Balance is a private healthcare provider, so you cannot use NHS or GP care numbers to pay for treatment.

Packages and savings
Yes. For sports massage, a block of five 45-minute appointments costs £287.50, saving £7.50 per session. Five 60-minute appointments cost £325, saving £10 per session.
For physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractic, a block of five follow-up treatments costs £300, saving £10 per appointment. Initial Assessments are purchased separately.
Treating children
Yes, although age limits vary by practitioner and treatment. Contact us before booking, and we’ll help match your child with an appropriate clinician.
Health insurance
We currently work directly with Bupa, WPA and Healix. If you’re using health insurance, please contact us before booking so we can check your details and match you with a practitioner recognised by your insurer.
Before booking, contact Bupa and obtain an authorisation number for the treatment you need. We’ll also need your Bupa membership number.
We can then bill Bupa directly for authorised treatment. Depending on your policy, you may still be responsible for an excess or any amount not covered by your plan.
We do not currently bill AXA, Vitality or Aviva directly.
You can still book with Nordic Balance as a self-paying client. After treatment, we can provide an itemised receipt or invoice that you may be able to use to claim reimbursement from your insurer. Please check this with your insurer before booking, as reimbursement depends on your individual policy.
Coverage varies between insurers and policies. Sports massage is not covered by the insurers we work with, while podiatry and orthotics are only covered under certain policies.
Always check your cover with your insurer before booking.
Insurance authorisation is usually linked to a specific injury or condition. If you need treatment for a different problem, contact your insurer for new authorisation and book a new 45-minute Initial Assessment.
Bupa health insurance
Contact Bupa first and ask them to authorise the specific type of treatment you need. Physiotherapy, osteopathy and chiropractic require the appropriate authorisation, so a physiotherapy code cannot be used for osteopathy or chiropractic treatment.
Once authorised, send us your membership number and authorisation code when you contact us to book. If needed, our team will explain anything else we require.
Bupa commonly authorises treatment in blocks, often beginning with an Initial Assessment followed by several follow-up appointments. The exact number depends on your policy and the authorisation Bupa gives you.
If further treatment is clinically appropriate, your practitioner can provide Bupa with the information they need to consider additional sessions.
Bupa ultimately decides approval, so there may be a short wait while they review the request. Our team can help you plan your next appointments while that process is underway.
