Need help choosing the right treatment?
If pain or injury is holding you back, physiotherapy, shockwave therapy, chiropractic or exercise rehabilitation may be the right place to start. For recovery and maintenance, explore osteopathy, sports massage and dry needling. Podiatry covers foot and lower-limb concerns, while women’s health, postnatal, paediatric, and cranial osteopathy offer more specialist care.
Still have questions?
Many private health insurance providers cover a range of treatments, including physio, shockwave, chiropractic and podiatry. Nordic Balance therapists are registered with a range of UK health insurers, such as Bupa. Your excess, level of cover and how you claim will depend on your individual policy, so it’s worth checking the terms before booking. If you’re unsure, our team can help guide you through the process; contact us today for support.
There’s overlap between all three, but the main difference is where they tend to focus.
- Choose physiotherapy if you’re recovering from an injury or surgery, or need to rebuild strength, movement and function through structured rehabilitation.
- Choose osteopathy if the cause of your problem is less obvious, or you want a broader assessment of how different parts of your body, movement and day-to-day habits may be contributing.
- Choose chiropractic care if your concern is centred around the spine, posture or how you move, with treatment likely to include manual therapy, manipulation and exercise.
Still unsure? Tell us what you’re experiencing, and we’ll help guide you to the right practitioner.
An initial assessment lasts up to 45 minutes. During that time, your therapist will assess your symptoms, movement and relevant lifestyle and medical history, explain their diagnosis, talk you through your treatment options and agree on a clear plan with you. If it’s safe and appropriate, treatment can also begin in that first session.
