Guide to claiming the cost of treatment
We understand that navigating the process of claiming treatment costs through your health insurance company can be confusing. To make it easier, we have outlined the steps and key information you need to claim your treatment costs. Requirements vary according to the provider. Contact us for specific guidance before booking.
How it works
We strive to make the insurance claim process as smooth as possible. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team. We are here to support you.
-
To bill your insurer, we need an authorisation code or claim reference number, along with your membership or policy number. Please provide these details to us when you schedule your appointment.
-
You will need a separate claim for each injury or service. For example, if you’re receiving chiropractic treatment and physiotherapy for different issues, each treatment will require a unique billing code.
-
Stay informed about the number of sessions covered to avoid unexpected out-of-pocket expenses.
-
Many insurance policies include an excess, which varies by provider. Check your policy to understand the specific amount you will be responsible for.
-
Insurers will not discuss your policy details with us. If you have specific policy-related questions, it’s best to speak directly with your insurer.

Still have questions?
We currently work directly with Bupa, WPA and Healix. If you’re using insurance, please contact us before booking so we can check your cover and match you with a practitioner registered with your insurer.
Bupa will usually give you an authorisation number confirming the treatment they have approved. To arrange your appointment, we’ll need your Bupa membership number and authorisation number.
We bill Bupa directly for authorised treatment, although you may still need to pay any excess or shortfall that applies to your policy. If you’re unsure what your policy covers, check with Bupa before booking.
No. Cover depends on both the treatment and your individual policy. Sports massage is not covered by the insurers we work with, while podiatry and orthotics are only covered under some policies.
Please send us your authorisation or claim reference number, your membership or policy number, and a brief note on the treatment you need or the problem you’re experiencing.
In most cases, yes. Your insurer may need to approve treatment before we can book you in, so it’s best to contact them first and have your authorisation or claim reference ready.
Let us know when you contact us. We’ll check which Nordic Balance practitioners are suitable under your policy and help arrange the right appointment.
That depends on your policy. Some insurers cover the full cost, while others may apply an excess or limit. We recommend checking your cover with your insurer before treatment.
If you need to cancel, reschedule or change your appointment, please contact us at least 24 hours before your appointment time. Changes made within 24 hours or missed appointments are charged the full session fee.
