Dry Needling London
Dry needling to support better movement and mobility
When muscular tension keeps returning or stops you from moving comfortably, dry needling can help release tight, sensitive areas and reduce pain. Our practitioners use acupuncture needles to work directly into specific muscles and trigger points, often alongside physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic care, sports massage or exercise rehabilitation. You’ll be assessed first, and we’ll explain clearly why dry needling may help and how it fits into the rest of your treatment.

Dry needling combined with manual therapy
Dry needling benefits muscle pain, tight knots, and restricted movement by releasing myofascial trigger points. Your practitioner uses dry needling when they believe it will genuinely help reduce muscular tension, pain, or restriction. We’ll first assess how you move, explain why we’re recommending it and, where appropriate, combine it with hands-on treatment or rehabilitation to support your recovery.
Still have questions?
Dry needling uses very fine needles placed into specific tight or sensitive muscles. It is commonly used to help reduce muscular tension, ease pain, and improve movement.
You may feel a small prick as the needle enters and a brief ache or muscle twitch when a tight area is treated. Some temporary soreness afterwards can happen, and your practitioner will explain what to expect before starting.
There is no standard number. It depends on the problem, how long it has been there and how you respond. We will review your progress and recommend further treatment only when we think it is worthwhile.
Yes. Some of our sports therapists combine sports massage and dry needling where appropriate, particularly when muscular tension or trigger points are contributing to the problem.
Yes. Dry needling may be used alongside physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic care, sports therapy or exercise rehabilitation. The aim is to use it where it supports the wider plan rather than relying on it alone.
That is completely fine. Dry needling is optional, and your practitioner can discuss other hands-on treatment approaches with you.
Both use fine needles, but they’re used differently. Dry needling targets specific muscles and trigger points linked to pain, tension or restricted movement. Acupuncture uses established acupuncture points and may be used more broadly depending on the practitioner’s approach.
At Nordic Balance, we use dry needling as part of musculoskeletal treatment when your practitioner believes it will help.
